Do you think it is unreasonable to have a bacherolette party on New Years Eve? The maid of honor did not discuss this with any of the bridesmaids? The wedding is on January 2nd and the rehearsal dinner is one New Years night. There are 3 of 8 bridesmaids traveling from a distance. The reason I ask this question is because I will most likely have to work New Years Eve and I just never expected to have my best friends bachelorette party on New Years Eve. The maid of honor is her younger sister and I feel as though nothing was disgust about the arrangements. I thought being a bridesmaid meant making discussions and being an ample part of the wedding. I have not heard from the maid of honor or had any input on anything. Please let me know what you think I should do if anything. I am extremely upset about this because she is truly my best friend. Thank you so much for listening.
It is always best practice to ask if the date suits when it falls on some sort of holiday e.g. New years eve, xmas eve, halloween etc.
It is rude to expect that your planned guests won’t have any other plans and if they do, they have to drop them to attend your party.
And she definitely should have consulted you seeing as you are her flippin bridesmaid. If you have to work, then you have to work, sorry but she should have thought about/ asked about it earlier

Heck, I think having the WEDDING that weekend is unreasonable. Most people have holiday plans, and expecting them to spend their whole holiday on your wedding is just unfair. As far as New Year’s Eve goes, most people want to spend that time with their spouse/significant other.
Unfortunately, there isn’t much you can do at this point. Bite your tongue and play along for the bride’s sake.

It is not right at all to plan a bacherolette party on new years eve. The girls that have husbands/boyfriends will want to spend that night with their S/O.
