Slopping out millions ‘must stop’

Building a shower pan is usually left to the pros. That’s because you must get the construction right or the shower will leak. A leaky shower is a potential disaster. Now there are tile ready plastic pans that you can use as a base to lay tile on. But the traditional masonry shower pan works great and still is the most common way to get a tile shower built. It’s tricky to build, but it’s just built in layers from the bottom up.
You see a tile shower floor contains a hidden ingredient. The tile you see on the floor is not waterproof. Neither is the grout. Water goes right through grout and through tile even, so that’s why the pan is more than you see. Here’s how it’s built from the ground up.
The ground being the base which may be concrete or a subfloor. Whatever it is, it must be stable and not bouncy. Often that first layer is a layer of cement board with maybe some tar paper over it. The paper is to keep the masonry that comes next in place until it dries. Meanwhile you have the drain in place and a special drain it is. The drain has two layers of drain holes. The top of the drain is set at the height of the finished floor.
Over the first layer goes a layer of masonry. Now it’s a special formula and it’s not too watery, but just right. This layer is sloped toward the drain, to the lower drain holes of the special drain actually. That’s a secret ingredient. The water that seeps through the floor is heading for the lower drain holes.
Over the first masonry layer goes the next layer. That’s in the form of a special thick vinyl sheet. That’s what stops the water for good and moves it to the drain holes below the surface of the floor. And how do the drain holes stay open if they’re below the surface? It’s another trick.
Then over the vinyl membrane goes another layer of mortar. This layer is sloped to the drain too, but such that the finished floor will be at just the right height. This is the base for the tile. Over this base you lay the tile and slope up right to the drain which you see in the shower floor when it’s finished. Grout the tile and you’re done.
It takes six layers in a tile shower to build the shower pan. A shower built properly will last for many years. The real key is getting the drain in right and getting that vinyl membrane put in just right and sealed so it’s really waterproof. This is a lot easier to understand if you can see it done at least once. Building a shower pan isn’t complicated, but it’s a bit tricky.
You can get access to video tutorials showing the professional tricks to building a shower pan including how to tile shower walls and put in accessories too.

As We Enter 2009 Leaders in Every Walk of Life Must Value Truth and Integrity More Than Ever
Marzo 10th, 2009 by chinesebabynames6509“Hear me out” were the words of an experienced teacher who had been searching over many years for spiritual reality. On he went, “I have problems with Christians holding onto what I consider to be non-essentials, such as the Virgin Birth Tanya Sarne Perfume the Resurrection.”
What a conversation resulted as we discussed these central truths.
Truth is important. We read that the church of the living God is the pillar and foundation of truth.
Truth matters because the heart of what we believe is at stake. Truth and integrity is vitally important. Truth in business and integrity in business could have saved thousands upon thousands of people from much unnecessary suffering in these present times - and the suffering is serious and deep and painful - and it looks as if it is going to last for many months - perhaps even many years.
All this is the consequence of leaders misleading and mismanaging. Some even thought they would not be found out. God has said, “Behold your sins will find you out”, and we cannot change that. Note that it does not just say that your sins will be found out. It declares that YOU will be found out. No man can hide. This is why truth and integrity and honesty and openness and good sound leadership is so vitally important.
If we depart from truth, the Gospel of Jesus Christ is perverted and the mission of the church is perverted.
Where there is an abandonment of the truth of God as revealed in the Scriptures there arises widespread biblical illiteracy.
The rejection of truth leads to ethical and moral confusion. Our western society is presently suffering the consequences of tragic decisions.
Without a sound solid reliable basis for morality, no moral consensus can be reached. Human rights and responsibilities, once seen as given by God, now lack any authoritative reference.
When the God of the Bible is rejected, the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, the God and Father of Jesus Christ, people choose a new god. It is not that people no longer worship, but they no longer worship the living God, and all kinds of painful circumstances arise, many of which could have been avoided.
If the Christian Faith is not the truth, it is nothing!
Jesus Christ came as the champion of truth and of those on the side of truth. He, the Lord of Lords and King of Kings, is also the Leader of leaders. Whom we follow is crucial. It affects and influences every area of our lives and it influences the lives of so many others.
This is not a side issue. It is central and pivotal. It would be impossible to over emphasise the place of truth when it comes to the welfare, well-being and ultimate security of society. The bill is now coming in as a direct result of the lack of truth, openness, honesty and basic integrity!
Those who have sided with Jesus and followed the risen living Jesus over the years have found Him to be utterly reliable and faithful. After all, He is the truth and the only way to God.

3 Bedroom Makeover Ideas That Won’t Break the Pockets!
Marzo 9th, 2009 by chinesebabynames6509Hotel rooms can be inspiration for bedroom makeover Ideas. A few months ago, I stayed at a really nice hotel and took notice of how the room was decorated. I really liked the paint choice, comforter, lighting and how the room was arranged. I went home to my bedroom and felt that it looked a little boring. I decided that my bedroom needed a makeover but an inexpensive makeover. I went to the internet and tried to find ways to give my bedroom a makeover without spending a lot of money. I want to share three simple tips that made me believe it was possible to decorate on a budget.
1. Try some new Bedding
The key is to buy the right colors when using bedroom makeover ideas. You can buy an inexpensive comforter or bedspread from Wal-Mart or an outlet store. Also, I would buy a new sheet set and a couple of pillows. The comforter, sheets, and pillows should match the theme of the bedroom. This simple little change made a big difference in my bedroom.
2. Use a Decorative Rod
I was using a plain white rod with some curtains that had a valance. I went to Big Lots and bought a decorative rod for $7.00 and just hung up some panels. Changing the rod made the room look better because the regular white rod made the room look out dated.
3. Add a Rug
I didn’t have a rug in my bedroom and now I really like the look of the rug after adding it to the room. The rug I bought matches my curtains and bedding. Large rugs can be expensive but look for sales or try an outlet store. I think adding a rug to the room was one of the best bedroom makeover ideas that completed my room. A nice rug will add color and depend on decorating style give a more contemporary look to the room.
People don’t realize how easy it is to decorate or give your bedroom a makeover with the right resources. Also, it really doesn’t take a lot of money to make a few changes to your bedroom.
If you looking for a way to give your bedroom a makeover or just need some decorating tips then do what I did and Visit BudgetHomeDecoratingIdeas.com, for more information on Budget Home Decorating Ideas.
The Great Union Buster
Marzo 8th, 2009 by chinesebabynames6509It’s no secret that almost every Republican President was on the side of Big Business. Yes, there were two Presidents who waged a small war against Big Business and they were Teddy Roosevelt and Richard Nixon.
Roosevelt refused to seek a second term after becoming President by assassination and pursued other work for the progressive Group of the Republican Party. Richard Nixon was betrayed by his Party after he paved the way to China only because he Care 4 Your Skin imposed price and wage controls against Big Business and put an end to the killing of our soldiers in Viet Nam.
Then too, we had one President who went that extra mile for Big Business, and that was Ronald Reagan. Apparently he didn’t like Labor Unions. If you remember, he fired all of our air traffic controllers after they went on strike for better working conditions. You see, an eighty hour work week was too much for some of our air traffic controllers. By the way, our air traffic controllers are still desperate for more help.
So Too, he did nothing about the loss of millions of jobs because Big Business found cheaper labor forces outside of our Country that weren’t protected by organized Labor Unions. Clearly, Ronald Reagan wasn’t a President for the Majority within our Country.
If he was, he would have quarantined New York City when the A.I.D.S. virus struck that place and has since killed millions of people. Yes, he passed that buck to his surgeon general who did nothing more than tell everyone to wear a condom. I wonder what he did that was so great for the Majority? Please tell me because I really would like to know.
Mid-East Conflict Started In A Tent
Marzo 6th, 2009 by chinesebabynames6509The conflict in the Middle East was born several thousand years ago in a tent in the desert. The Old Testament, Book of Genesis, lays out the story in great detail. It’s compelling reading for students of the Middle East conflict.
The story goes that God told Abraham that he would have a son, to name him Isaac, and that Isaac would be the first of a great nation, their number more than all the grains of sand in the desert. At that time, Abraham was 100-years old and Sarai, his wife, was 90-years old. Years passed, Abraham and Sarai grew even older, and Sarai began losing faith in God’s promise because she was way “beyond childbearing years”. So, she had a suggestion to solve the problem, to help God so to speak.
Sarai suggested that Abraham “lay” with her young Egyptian handmaiden, Hagar, and bear a child with her that would be Sarai’s and Abraham’s heir. It was a sort of surrogate birth. Abraham bought the suggestion and Ishmael was born. This did not please God, as the story goes. Soon there was conflict because Sarai got pregnant by Abraham (as God promised) and Isaac was born.
In those days the first born son would inherit the father’s business. Isaac was the first born but Sarai, later in the story, began treating Ishmael and Hagar badly. She told Abraham to cast them out of the encampment. Abraham struggled over this because Ishmael was also his son. God told Abraham to listen to Sarai and he left them in the desert in God’s care. God spoke to Hagar and Ishmael in the desert and made Hagar a promise that Ishmael would be the father “of a great nation” as well.
Interesting story. Interesting in the fact that Isaac and Ishmael are half-brothers. So, you see, the conflict in the Middle East is a family squabble that has claimed thousands of lives among combatants and innocents. It all began in a tent in the desert.

Globalised Economic World and Regionalised Political Orders Must Harmonise
Febrero 22nd, 2009 by chinesebabynames6509Yesterday, Britain’s prime minister, Gordon Brown, called for a “new global order” to deal with Morasawina economic crisis Jill Nutrisystem Commercial warned against the protectionist policies that were put in place in the 1930s.
Tackling issues on the global economy, the prime minister said that a “radical step-up in global cooperation” was necessary to prevent the emergence of “financial mercantilism”.
On the same day, Timothy F Geithner asserted that “China manipulates its currency”. This was Vera Bradley Bible Covers unhelpful, to say the least, as Sino-American detente and cooperation is the essence of Brown’s statements on creating a Plus Size Dress Side Split global order.
Just prior to Barack Obama’s inauguration, Henry Kissinger wrote the most erudite piece, “The world must forge a new Pottery Barn Teen or retreat to chaos”.
In it he analysed the Mary Francis Handbags financial and international crises”, saying that the financial collapse represents a “major blow to the standing of the United States in the eyes of the world”, and that “every country will have to reassess its own contribution to the prevailing crisis. Each will seek to make itself independent, to the greatest possible degree, of the conditions that produced the collapse”.
Because of the economic exuberance, he said, a “gap had opened up between the economic and the political organisation of the world.” What he meant by this, and Vera Bradley Capri Melon Large Duffel is by far the most pertinent idea in the article, is that while the economic world has been globalised, the political order has not and that “every major country has attempted to solve its immediate problems essentially on its own and to defer common action to a later, less crisis-driven point.”
Both America and the UK are in a woeful economic state, with one The Daily Mail editorial pointing out that if the second tranche of the bank bailouts fails to stimulate the economy, the country itself will be bankrupt. One could argue it has been since the Second World War but if Gordon Brown’s so-called saving the world policies Size 12 Or 14 Petite Full Figure at home, which the financial press largely think it might, it would send an almost doomsday-like message to the world and its markets.
Rescue packages have been set up on a piecemeal, national basis and, for most countries, with unlimited Beijo Handbags guarantees by governments. So far, none of these tactics seem to have reined in the maelstrom from rescuing more industries from bankruptcy.
In part, it was run-away domestic credit that produced the crash in the first place and these measures have not been able to stem the panic since. According to Kissinger, “international order will not come about either in the political or economic field until there emerge general rules toward which countries can orient themselves,” and also that “in the end, the political and economic systems can be harmonised in only one of two ways: by creating an international political regulatory system with the same reach as that of the economic world; or by shrinking the economic units to a size manageable by existing political structures, which is likely to lead to a new mercantilism, perhaps of regional units. A new Bretton Woods kind of global agreement is by far the preferable outcome.”
This underlying threat is perhaps what sparked the euphoria surrounding President Obama’s inauguration and the unrealistic and unprecedented expectations put on his new administration. And while that was going on the actors on the world’s political stage were “avowing their desire to undertake the transformations imposed on them by the world crisis in collaboration with the United States”.
And in all this we cannot forget China, which has witnessed its export markets being mauled, with worries that should its growth rate fall below the 7.5% range, political stability in the country could become a real problem. It thus begs the question of how China and America deal with the crisis.
On the one hand Kissinger is asking that the globalised economic order and the silo-based political order to come tangentially into line. But how can the two systems, wholly different in both architecture and culture, be Scrapbooking Retreat Pine City Mn into a union that is able to deal with this depression? And what if protectionism grows in either country and becomes adversarial in nature? That would have long-lasting and devastating long-term consequences on every country the world over.
Kissinger argues that “the Sino-American relationship needs to be taken to a new level”, to reshape relations “into a design for a common destiny, much as was done with trans-Atlantic relations in the postwar period”.
But can his vision of an international order be permanent? Can it work? Obama’s inaugural address sought to build bridges in a vision of hope, but with all the conflicts that are currently dogging the world, will the depression be the healer of these divisions or will it explode into a disastrous new world disorder and war?
